How to Become the HEALTHIEST, Most ENERGETIC, KICKASS.SHIT.HOT.VEGAN That You Can Be

Vegan is NOT synonymous with PERFECT HEALTH.

Just as it’s not synonymous with LACK OF HEALTH, being weak or deficient.

While becoming vegan doesn’t automatically guarantee a perfect health, there is no reason why a vegan (you!) couldn’t take care of your body and what you put into it – to make sure you are the HEALTHIEST, most ENERGETIC, KICKASS.SHIT.HOT.VEGAN that you can be.

Let’s face it: being vegan is not synonymous with perfect health. Or perfect body weight. Or perfect skin. Vegans can and do get sick. There are vegans who look unhealthy. Vegans who have acne. Vegans who are overweight.

While there are people who are touting the vegan diet as the healthiest diet and an easy way to lose weight – truth is EATING VEGAN doesn’t necessarily EQUATE with eating HEALTHY – I mean French fries, ketchup, Coca Cola and Oreos are all vegan – but you wouldn’t be thriving if you based your life on such foods, right??!

On top of that, promoting veganism as an easy and all-inclusive solution to global health crisis, environmental crisis, global warming, as well as ethical and moral crises (and the best way to bring on the world peace) – can be a turn off for many people as they see those claims as being unrealistic at best, and obnoxious and self-righteous at worst; plus it’s an easy path to disappointment – producing a lot of disillusioned vegans who then write posts and articles on ‘how the vegan diet failed them’, ‘why I’m not vegan anymore’ and how ‘veganism when taken to its logical conclusion will bring on the extinction of the human race’ and the like.

And then there are times when a vegan gets sick – and when you do, you can hear the comments like – ‘She’s vegan, it’s obviously not the healthiest way to eat,’ or ‘You should have more real food – especially protein. Have some chicken soup (if you have a cold), it will make you stronger and you’ll feel better faster’ – or something equally annoying.

However, being vegan is NOT ABOUT HEALTH. It’s not about DIET.  It’s certainly NOT about YOU.  

So, while I don’t agree with advocating vegan diet as a healthy diet and a weight-loss diet, or even don’t like using the word DIET in the context of VEGANISM – which is really a LIFESTYLE that’s based on JUSTICE, COMPASSION, AND CARING – with that being said –

There is no reason why a vegan (you!) couldn’t take good care of your body and what you put into it – to make sure you are the HEALTHIEST, most ENERGETIC, KICKASS.SHIT.HOT. VEGAN that you can be – and the object of envy and desire, if that’s what you want 😉 , as well as the perfect advocate for this lifestyle.

Let’s face it, you’re feeling crappy or looking crappy, it affects all areas of your life. And then if people in your circle of influence – if god-forbid they try to eat vegan and they feel crappy and want to quit – then this a lost opportunity, maybe forever, and not just one – if they tell everybody about how ‘veganism is not sustainable’ and how they immediately ‘felt better when they started eating meat again.’

Looking for Life’s Purpose and Passion? Become an Every-Day Hero and Start Living Like You F*cking Give a Damn!

Even though everyone has the potential to become a hero, becoming a hero is not for everyone.

At least that’s what is generally believed.

First of all, it is not for the faint of heart. It involves taking a HEROIC ACTION of some sort – and usually even RISKING YOUR LIFE in the process – so it requires a higher-than-average level of COURAGE. A hero conquers his or her fears, ignores adversity, and acts where others would simply run away or look the other way. It calls for certain degree of SELFLESSNESS – as a hero puts his or her own interests away and is willing to make a sacrifice – in order to perform the act of heroism.

It also requires an OPPORTUNITY to present itself – whereby a hero is called to take the heroic action and actually become a hero – this is a critical component, because even though many people DREAM about becoming a hero, and many people have the POTENTIAL to become one; not everyone will become an ACTUAL hero in their lifetime.

Unfortunately for heroes, many acts of heroism remain unrecognized. However, heroes do what they do just because they’re CALLED TO DO IT, not to gain fame or recognition; they would do it even if no one was watching – just because it’s the right thing to do, they cannot NOT take an action – or they would have to live forever with the question of ‘what if’ tormenting them in their conscious life and coming to haunt them at night in their dreams.

What’s interesting is how becoming a hero today is different than it used to be.

Do you sometimes feel like you’re ALONE? I have this feeling sometimes that gets me really upset. Even with good friends, I can suddenly feel like on a desert island — or an alien planet.

You want to do so much and hope you could help change this world to be a better place for all; but you’re unsure what to do so end up to just make a donation to the first charity that sends you their promotional materials at the end of the year claiming a victory for the farmed animals?

* Are you UNSURE what to say to people and how to be a FORCE FOR GOOD in the world with so much disinformation, conflicting messages, sarcasm and even plain hostility towards this message of justice and compassion. Even vegans are often clashing with each other, so it’s not surprising that people are suspicious when they hear the word VEGAN. They don’t want to feel challenged, inconvenienced, overwhelmed — they prefer to stay “comfortably unaware.”

* Are you just plain BUSY with lots of things to do on your to-do list, and you don’t have much time to contribute to spreading the message that you care about deeply? Since you have little time and few resources, you are wondering how to leverage them to make the BIGGEST IMPACT?

Creating TIME for yourself.  Time to write. Time to create. Time to reflect on things. Time to read and think and take action on things that are most important to you. During the day – it’s hard. There are too many distractions. It’s not that I’m not THINKING about those things, but I just don’t have enough quiet, uninterrupted time to focus on what I really need to do; no – on what I MUST do, to get those ideas out of my head and into the world – because I seem to be called to do it (I guess this is called your purpose? Destiny? Mission? – whatever. It simply MUST BE SAID, CREATED, LET OUT – or else … I don’t know? I’ll die bitter and unfulfilled? Maybe, maybe not. Certain things will remain UN-DONE and UN-SAID? Maybe, but maybe not – maybe someone else will say them better. So I guess it is a calling.
